Rotary Tillers

Rotary Tillers FAQ

Where are the rotary tillers manufactured?

All of our rotary tillers, mowers, and other compact construction equipment are manufactured overseas, and our office is located in Buffalo, NY. We are a Veteran founded business, committed to guaranteeing the highest quality stump grinders on the market, with above and beyond customer service.

What size rotary tiller should I get for my tractor?

The size of the tiller you need depends on your tractor’s horsepower. A general rule is about 4-6 horsepower per foot of tiller width. For example, if you’ve got a tractor with 25 PTO horsepower, a 5-foot tiller will be your sweet spot. WoodMaxx tillers, like the RT-58 and RT-80, are built with durability and efficiency in mind, and they work well within this guideline. Plus, their forward-rotation tines require less horsepower to operate, giving you more power for deep, smooth tilling even in tough soil.

Does WoodMaxx have other compact construction equipment available?

Our team is happy to help you find the compact construction equipment and attachments that you need to tackle the job, before you use one of our stump grinders to clear the land. We sell equipment to the direct public, allowing us to offer the best priced mowers for commercial applications and homeowners!

Should I choose forward or reverse rotation for the tiller?

This can be a big decision for tractor owners. Forward-rotating tillers, like those from WoodMaxx, rotate in the same direction as the tractor wheels, which helps fling rocks and debris out of the way while also being easier on your tractor's engine. Reverse-rotation tillers are known for breaking up soil more aggressively, but they also require more horsepower and can be harder on your equipment if you hit a rock. For most applications, especially gardens and food plots, WoodMaxx’s forward-rotation design offers plenty of power while being gentler on your tractor.

How deep can a rotary tiller dig?

WoodMaxx tillers are adjustable to dig up to 6 inches deep, depending on the model. This is ideal for most tilling jobs, whether you're preparing a new garden bed or breaking up packed soil in a field. The depth can be easily adjusted with side runners, allowing you to tailor it to the task at hand. The large-diameter rotor and self-sharpening tines on WoodMaxx models help ensure consistent tilling performance, even in heavy soil. WoodMaxx tillers stand out for their rugged build and smart features like adjustable depth settings and efficient power usage. They’re designed to handle real-world challenges with ease, making them a top choice for tractor owners everywhere.
