Born and headquartered in Akron, NY, WoodMaxx redefined the wood chipper industry.

OUR MISSION

At WoodMaxx, we forge the future of outdoor power equipment by delivering superior quality and innovative solutions. Honoring our veteran-founded roots, we uphold the highest standards in American manufacturing. Our mission is to empower landowners with reliable, high-performing equipment that stands the test of time and becomes a part of their legacy.

OUR ROOTS

WoodMaxx Power Equipment Ltd. was founded in 2008 by a 14-year Army infantry veteran who set out to build a compact yet powerful PTO chipper after finding nothing on the market that met his needs. Driven by innovation and a commitment to quality, WoodMaxx developed its first machine, setting the stage for a brand built on hard work, craftsmanship, and integrity. Today, thousands of WoodMaxx machines are in use worldwide, a testament to the company’s dedication to designing equipment that stands the test of time.

OUR LEGACY

In January 2025, WoodMaxx was acquired by longtime employees Tucker Smart and Adam MacBain, who founded The Back Forty Group with a vision to continue the brand’s legacy of quality and innovation. Deeply invested in WoodMaxx’s success, they built their careers understanding the needs of hardworking customers who rely on durable, high-performance equipment. Under their leadership, WoodMaxx stays true to its roots, delivering exceptional products with a focus on safety, ingenuity, and customer-first design. WoodMax remains committed to delivering exceptional equipment designed to last for generations.
