When you are considering purchasing a backhoe, you may be confounded by the number of options available. Backhoes have different bucket sizes, reach capabilities, and digging capabilities, for example. The backhoe you need depends on the nature and scope of your project. In addition to these differences, backhoes are available in PTO and tractor-mounted varieties.
The main difference between PTO and tractor mounted backhoes is how it draws its power. A PTO backhoe draws its power from a self-contained hydraulic pump and tank. While each type of backhoe has its advantages and disadvantages, many backhoe operators prefer the PTO models. Because the PTO models draw its own power, it always puts out just the right amount of hydraulic oil flow and hydraulic pressure. This regulated oil flow and pressure helps to ensure that the backhoe performs consistently and well each time you use it.
WoodMaxx manufactures and distributes three sizes of PTO backhoes. Choose from the WM 6600 backhoe, which is a 6 foot model; the WM 7600 model, which is a 7 foot model, and the WM 8600, the 8 foot model. These backhoes are capable of digging a 7 foot, 8 foot, and 9 foot hole, respectively. All three models offer a swing arc of 180 degrees, and each has a bucket rotation of 180 degrees. These models differ in their loading height, reach from the center line of pivot, stabilizer spread and speed, and a number of other capabilities. Select the model that is right for your needs.
